l prefer mental challenges to physical challenges of dexterity these days anf my tolerance for aggravating bugs gets lower each year. l will stick to the Xbox 360 and its slightly less aggravating bug of Lara falling through the boards in the Manor pool room. L know l am getting old, yes there were a few frustrating moments there in Egypt when l just could not time a jump right, and l dread playing the Great Pyramid level on the PC or PS2 due to that wretched third platform. Other than that, I found this game to be challenging and fun and am looking forward to replaying it. There were other parts of the game that were difficult for a while (the uppper moving statues in Temple of Khamoon), but I eventually got it. I could not get past that without using cheats. The only part of TRA that I found too hard was the pyramid climb in the Great Pyramid. Sure, unlike the main body of Legend, it's certainly not a cake walk but some people now just don't seem to understand that a certain amount of, rarely unfair, difficulty was always a vital part of the whole TR experience. I'm surprised any TR veterans here had any real trouble with TR: A. ![]() It increased the difficulty very slowly and reflects very well the beautifully judged learning curve of the original game. There were also a number of pedantic jumps, mostly in Egypt (I've always thought deliberately designed in) which meant that if you weren't perfectly centred or jumped at even a slight angle Lara wouldn't make the grab.īut generally I thought the difficulty level was set perfectly for my skills on it's hardest setting + using manual grab as I did right from the start. I did curse the way the camera would sometimes shift, especially when Lara was pole balancing, That caused me more than a few unnecessary deaths/failed time challenge runs. ![]() Not hard just a depressingly cheap device I'd like consigned to history ASAP. There were a few wall run locations that I found annoyingly difficult like the much complained about Great Pyramid and there was one (optional) in Egypt where the length of grapple rope, angle and timing of the jump seemed critical.Īdrenaline dodge/headshots I could live with, although over used, but the mercifully few fatuous QTEs I could have well done without.
